This blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon & 14% Cabernet Franc from the famed Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard achieves it overall character through the harmonious integration of the powerhouse Clone 4 , Cabernet Sauvignon with the alluring Clone 7 which combine to achieve the roundness and balance for which the Jacquelynn wines are known.
While sourced from the same blocks as the previous vintages, with the addition of Cabernet Franc I feel that this wine represents our best effort to date. Barrel fermented in large open top French Oak Puncheons and then barrel aged in 100% new French Oak barrels this wine rises above the glass with blue and black fruit, tobacco leaf, tobacco leaf, espresso roast, white chocolate, cocoa, and toasty oak characteristics in its dense, full-bodied style
BECKSTOFFER TO KALON VINEYARD

The famed To Kalon vineyard has been considered one of the most influential vineyards in California since Napa Valley pioneer Hamilton Crabb first planted the site in 1868. Named To Kalon, the Greek word for “Highest Beauty”, this vineyard is nestled in the middle of the Oakville Appellation near the base of the western hills. The 89 acre Beckstoffer portion was acquired by Andy Beckstoffer in 1993, then replanted from 1994 to 1997, and remains true to its heritage producing some of the most outstanding fruit in Napa Valley. Beginning with the 2004 vintage, we have been blessed to work with this historic site.
2007 Vintage
- Production: 250 cases produced
- Vineyards: Beckstoffer To Kalon, Oakville
- Cooperage: 100% new French Artisan Oak
- Vinification: Fermented in a combination of Oak and Stainless open top fermenters. Barrel aged for 19 months, bottled neither fined nor filtered.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon marks our fourth release from the famed Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in the Oakville appellation. Barrel aged in one hundred percent new French oak barrels for 19 months, this wine has tremendous opulence and massive body, yet retains a sense of balance and overall harmony. With intense aromas of black currant, licorice, and espresso that rise above the glass, this wine displays its power before the first sip is taken. On the palate, this wine reveals its hedonistic character with its mouth coating flavors of blackberry infused Swiss chocolate, blue berry, and subtle notes of tobacco. While some may enjoy this while it packs a youthful punch, it will drink well for the next 10-15 years.
Review: The Wine Advocate December, 2009
The promising 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard exhibits a dense purple color and massive tannin and fruit as well as good acidity. It needs 5-6 years of cellaring, and should last two decades or more. 93+ points - Robert Parker

Review: Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/Jun 10
Full ruby-red color. Cassis, licorice and graphite on the nose, with a perfumed element of floral oils. Densely packed, suave and sweet, with the compelling floral quality carrying through in the mouth and giving considerable early sex appeal to this round, soft, yet minerally wine. Finishes with very smooth tannins, good grip and subtle, slow-building length. Lovely potential here. 94 points
